(2013 - School project) Good coffee may take longer than regular coffee to make. The filtering of this precious commodity takes time, so I decided to think the coffee-making process as a show. This coffee maker is compact, and personal, with a two-cup capacity, to share it with someone. Each material used in its conception has a property. The top part of Pill is made of pyrex, which allows the user to see the coffee eruption, as it’s being filtered. The lower part is made of ceramic, as a thermal insulating material, and contrasts with the top part. The metal ring, filled with cork,
works as a seal and a safe part for the hand, the cork being a strong lagging material too. The user can also be an actor in the filtering process, so that he doesn’t have to stand there waiting. As he presses the cork top part, he makes the coffee stronger.
